Delicious Red Velvet, but who can afford to eat it??
Just had to share with my Columbia County friends the delicious yogurt at the new Yotopia yogurt next to Five Guys. On Saturday I took several kids for a treat. I expected it to be like the other yogurt stores that have popped up over town.(which reminds me,, remember 20 something years ago when frozen yogurt was all the rage? I remember my girlfriend and I going daily after college to a frozen yogurt store at Daniel Village! and then there was TCBY on Washington Road? They all seemed to disappear at about the same time.. so we go for over 10 years with no yogurt stores and now they are everywhere!)(guess it is true, what goes around comes around)
Anyhow, they had the most delicious red velvet yogurt !
I highly recommend this place! The decor was very cool and the assortment of toppings was like a candy store.. But if you go today, they may not have the red velvet. I understand after I posted on Sat. I was there eating red velvet yogurt that a lot of friend went and they ran out!:)
Have a great day! Kim

Are artificial sweeteners making me sick?
To my friends that have known me since Elem. school... you know I have always had issues with stomach aches.. It goes back as far as I can remember.. This past week I had a colonoscopy done.. ( not as bad as I feared.. if it is time for you to have one,,, contact me.. I will give you the real story!) my doctor believes I need to try removing all artficial sweeteners from my diet.. Yikes.. I only drink about 6 bottles of green tea a day and no telling how many diet cokes.. what in the heck will I drink???? dont' mention water.. I can only do so much of that! I am way to vain to drink sugared drinks!! I will gain weight.. and dont' say that drinking diet drinks make you gain! I dont' think it is true!
anyhow.. I had a friend that is very fit tell me that I really needed to change my diet.. got me thinking more and more about all the junk stuff I eat.. What is your opinion on the artifical sweetener debate??

Courage
The past 24 hours have been very interesting.. As to not go into details(which are pretty disgusting) I had some stomach tests done.... As I tried to go to sleep last night I began to think about how my life would change if I got bad news.. I suddenly found myself so grateful for the very things that had aggravated me the day before. All of a sudden it didn't seem to be as important if my daughter picked out her clothes for the next school day or if my cats ran thru the house knocking things over..
Fortunately, everything turned out just fine.. but the reality of that , you never know when it may be your turn to face that crisis.. I pray for many of my close friends that are dealing with that very thing.. and for the courage they must have each day.
My dad has always given out a poem that hit me today when waiting my turn... for those that are in the fight for their life, this is for you.
Don't Quit
You can never tell how close you are,
you might be near when it seems so far.
so stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
and it's times like these you must never ever quit.

I love this town!
I remember back in the 80's.. When Footloose was my very fave movie..Bon Jovi was singing Runaway and I was cruising in my white Z28 with t tops.. Man I thought I was cool. Even had Goofy as my liscense plate!(now why I thought that was cool I'm not sure!!)
I had dreams of leaving Augusta and moving to a big city... preferably in California... visions of what life would be like there.. Well, after living there for a year and a half I realized if I ever got myself back to Augusta I would never leave! That was 17 years ago and I still feel that way today. If I had not experienced life outside the CSRA I would never appreciate it like it do. In the next month I'm going to talk about people, places and things that make this town an awesome place to live.. according to me.
